• Hi, I'm Anna Vershinina, a dynamic architect and researcher deeply committed to shaping a sustainable and innovative future for our planet and beyond. I specialize in Regenerative Architecture and BioDesign, leveraging living systems for building environments. I’m pursuing a PhD at KU Leuven, Belgium, after earning a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Newcastle University, UK, and a Master’s in Architecture from KU Leuven. In 2023, I received the prestigious Bio Art and Design Award with exobiologist Wieger Wamelink, leading to the ExoGarden installation, aimed at sustaining life in harsh environments on Earth and in space. The project was awarded the Falling Walls Award in the following year. Collaborating with regenerative design pioneers Rachel Armstrong and Rolf Hughes, I created Xeno and Xeno II installations. My professional experience spans architecture firms in Germany and China, with BioDesign prototypes displayed at Plotting Patterns and Portals Expo at MU Hybrid Art House, Power Expo at CIVA, Singapore and Dutch Design Weeks, RetroFuture Exhibition at Evoluon, MaterialDistrict, ARCHITECT@WORK, and the Maakindustrie Expo. I have shared my work at notable conferences, including the MEEP Symposium in Lucerne and the MELiSSA Conference, securing third prize in a poster competition.

Join me on this extraordinary journey towards a more sustainable and regenerative future. 💚🚀

    XENO

POWER connects questions of energy and politics. The exhibition and accompanying program challenges viewers to consider how contemporary infrastructure relates to everyday life across intersecting concerns, including political institutions, citizen participation, geopolitics, energy transition, and climate justice. From oil and gas pipelines to domestic radiators, from wind turbines to recycling hubs, infrastructure is central to today’s debates surrounding systemic change. Objects of intense political, social, and economic contestation, these infrastructures distribute power in both senses of the word POWER : as energy and as politics.
